Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art which has been around for thousands of years. It is a collection of clinical experiences and medical knowledge on treating illnesses as well as maintaining health. Traditional Chinese Medicine views the human body as a whole, including the physical, mental and emotional status, as well as the living environment. It believes that physical and emotional symptoms or pathologies are a result of the imbalances between the Yin and Yang, which leads to the dysregulation of organ functions and Qi (energy) flow blockages or insufficiencies. As a result, our well-being is affected.
Acupuncture helps to restore the smooth flow of Qi in the meridians (the energy channels) and the internal organ functions. It involves the insertion of very fine sterilised, disposable needles into the surface of the body at specific acupoints. Since every individual is different, the prescription of acupoints and the manipulation used will be varied according to the individual needs.
